Josine (1 month ago) #38246378I find it funny that MegaHouse Ed ITEM #72238 doesn't have any genitalia at all and then this one seems to be packing too much lmao

Are you going to pre-order this too? I like more the face options from Oniri version. And you are right about the genitalia lol.

On statueforum there were quite a few complaints over broken pieces but most common of all the paint was being rubbed off by the packaging they were using- (forgive me if i'm getting mixed up here in advance)- IIRC they switched to paper from a soft cloth and it was the same with the Geralt statue.

To me, spending 1000$ (not including shipping and customs for us UK/EU folks) and having even the slightest issue which isn't guaranteed to be fixed/replaced is unacceptable.

FNFiction (1 month ago) #38202282This is exactly how I feel and I've said it before. They have an artistic style that in general does not suit many of the lines they produce.
As an example, their Guts 1/4' head sculpts and general proportions felt wrong to me and I don't think there was another pressure being put on them to fix the statue because they were going through a honeymoon period where statue collectors were gushing over how many new lines and pieces they were announcing. As soon as that honeymoon period ended, you could see people talking about their Griffith prototype being awful and then eventually the QC issues with the Guts release.
This is all ignoring the problems they've had with other lines i.e Geralt from The Witcher 3 etc. I just don't know how their prices are justifiable when it feels like they're not showing enough attention and care with every statue they release.

I wasn’t aware there were QC issues, do you mind telling me what they were?

maggie (1 month ago) #38198927You know... I keep thinking Prime 1 is one of the best, but the more of their sculpts I see, the more I keep thinking that though the quality seems great, that doesn’t fix their poor sculpts. To me it’s almost like when someone doesn’t get a drawing quite right, then they spend forever coloring or shading it. No matter what you do, if the base isn’t right, whatever you put on top of it will not fix it.
For the money, their products would have to hit me like a ton of bricks and I wouldn’t be able to NOT have them, they’d be so good. I keep waiting for it. Hasn’t happened by a mile.

I know what you mean. Every product of theirs I want turns out to not look so good or be made out of materials that should not be in that price range (i.e. vinyl figure for resin prices).

At least one good thing about them is that they continue to update their prototypes, so if you sort of like the statue, you could keep an eye on it and see if it gets better.

FSE (2 months ago) #36165306You can either take my word for it or a very poor quality & cropped picture as shown here.
This picture is not a good representation of how the sculpt looks.

This higher quality non-cropped photo looks worse to me. I'm glad I didn't take your word for it.
