Uhm, ok... kinda disppointing? I adore Jibril and NGNL but they really shoud've turned her into a whole new figure imo. I really like the new additions but I personally have no interest in having 2 incredibly similiar figures sitting on my shelves. The changes are too minor to make her interesting in my eyes, a somewhat new pose or base could've made all the difference (would've been so amazing to have another Jibril for my NGNL Zero shelf T_T)
Maybe she appeals to everyone who missed out on her original ver. tho?

I would be getting this, but I really don't like that random piece of hair sticking out like that. It looks really off.

I'm tempted to get this despite owning the original, since the price for that one has skyrocketed and I'm sure she will too.

Finally got around to watching the movie and was pretty disappointed with it; I didn't enjoy it much. However this jibril does make more sense now :D

Shikaree (2 months ago) #31139774Well... probably because you can't just flip a mold like a picture in photoshop.
It's a good idea though.

Considering a lot, if not most figures these days are all designed and sculpted using software on a computer that is then 3D printed, I'm sure it wouldn't have been a difficult task to accomplish. I don't have any knowledge of what programs certain companies use, but I've used Blender in the past, and I'm sure there is probably a way to invert the polygons somehow to create a reversed model. They would just need to 3D print the inverted model, and then cast it to create a new mold. Which, considering this is a basically a re-run, they'll probably have to re-cast the original non-inverted figure to get a fresh, new mold anyway since the original molds from the first release are probably all worn out, or disposed of already.

Shiroune (2 months ago) #31075767I personally think if they had done as you suggested, it wouldn't be getting NEARLY as much hate as it's getting. It's a really nice concept, like looking into the mirror and seeing her past self. I could imagine someone displaying both of them separated by a piece of glass in a picture frame to give off the elusion of it being a mirror. Would make for a nice picture. I can't imagine with the technology we have these days that it would be very difficult to mirror their original sculpt. They should call this the Missed Opportunity Ver. instead of the Great War Ver.
