I got mine today, and even though I do like it, its also given me so many issues.
As soon as I unwrapped the base, a horn on one of those heads snapped off... It was also completely impossible for me to attach him to the base properly. Its like the hole in the base was too small or something. Like... and mind you I was trying to be as careful as possible, the leg snapped. So obviously I am extremely upset about that given how much this cost. Having similar issues getting the head + cravat to fit properly with the cape on as well..
It really sucks Alucard can't get like... regular scales cause I really don't wanna drop another $400 on a figure with questionable quality issues :/

princefado1 year ago#76427107I adore this figure, and I definitely don't regret buying him, however, I am also frustrated with the issues with his cape fitting correctly! I cannot get his head on properly due to how voluminous his hair is. He looks fine without it, but it really does complete the image :( Hopefully I can figure out a solution to get it on.
For anyone having issues with the wings staying in on the base, I'm going to try using poster putty or something similar, because I don't want to glue them in when I inevitably have to move with this figure.

You can get the head to fit correctly, it just takes some adjusting. The trick for me was getting the cape to fit as closely as possible to the promotional photos. The head took some maneuvering to get the hair to fit over the cape, but it can be done.

As for putty, he already comes with a stick of it (looks very much like chewing gum). So the wings are already intended to be fit with putty and not glue. I personally used it it for his shield arm, since otherwise the weight of it pulled the arm down so it was loose in the socket. But I had some other (lower quality) putty for the wings, since weight isn't an issue for them.

After reading some reviews, I wasn’t very enthusiastic to get him out of the box.
I just did and I’m really glad I preordered this. Mine has no issues at all an the parts fit perfectly. I added some plastic wraps between the parts that touch, just to prevent paint transfer since the paint smells strong and fresh out of the box.
My only qualm is a preference one, his base while extremely beautiful is so heavy and huge, and his swords is taking even more space with that pose. I’m going to have a hard time finding a good spot for him. Other than that, really happy with this figure.

My preorder fell through lads :( I got my money back (eventually) but I was really looking forward to my best boi so it's a little devastating. On the bright side, I've been leaning more towards the F4F Alucard and now I can probably justify it, even if he is a bit more expensive on the aftermarket vs Gantaku.

Venetica1 year ago#71233684Also, he's 1/5 scale, not 1/4.

heatherville1 year ago#70920066You guys who've received him already, where did you order him from? I'm still waiting for mine in the UK and as far as I'm aware none of the UK stockists have him yet. I've never ordered a 1/4 before so maybe an irregular shipping schedule is par for the course, but it's really hard to find an ETA.
I'm located in the USA and I ordered mine from Sideshow. Also, he's 1/5 scale, not 1/4.

I received mine today. I'm personally glad I didn't cancel my order, though he is quite the pain in the ass.

I actually had to modify one of his parts to get it to fit. The hand holding the shield has a metal pin that is supposed to fit into a hole in the arm. However I could NOT get it to fit, no matter what I did. So after removing the paint from the pin (why do some companies insist on painting a hidden metal pin?) I painstakingly twisted and pulled it until it came out. I glued the two parts together and it was no longer an issue.

Also, I can't be the only one that was immediately horrified when I saw the size of the base in the promos. I hate large bases, which is why I regularly make my own. I'll have to tackle this one in the future.

After hearing all negative comment, I cancelled my order from Sideshow.

He definitely has QC issues. The head and Cape are an absolute mess to fit on. Paint keeps transferring and flicking off as well, as if they didn't seal it at all. Lol
I think the face is a little weird but I'm trying to let it slide. I'm not going to get rid of him, but it is super annoying that you basically have to damage the figure a bit just to display it.

Shame about the QC problems but as long as he looks good (i.e. not a repeat of the Mondo fiasco rip) I think I can work with any issues. I still think he's the nicest of the three statues that have been released recently but I do slightly regret not going for the F4F one as well (assuming I could even afford two) now that they've unveiled Dracula, who looks awesome.
