My Yamashiro finally came home, despite every postal service involved doing their best to keep her away. My first impression of her is she is pretty massive. I'd say she is actually more like a 1/6th scale figure. She does have a large hexagon base, but once you get all the pieces assembled, it is actually not oversized. I am a little disappointed that she has pegs coming out of her knees, and that the details on her outfit are decals rather than pad-printed paint, but at least on my copy unlike the previous persons, the decals are applied well. I noticed a spot on the back of the main ship part that doesn't seem to be painted correctly as well, but as it's not something that will typically be seen, I'm not gonna complain much.

I do really like that PLUM has such short release windows, and typically get their figures out on time. Though I have said it before and will say it again. While I think she turned out really nicely, I feel they could have taken a month more to really make her shine. But it really puts into perspective other companies that while yes, their quality is better, have upwards of 15-18 month manufacturing windows nowadays, followed by typically 4-6 months of delays.

Edit: after getting a closer look as I was taking pictures, the part on the back of her ship that I said was badly painted is actually painted just fine. It was an optical illusion caused by my overhead light shining though the intricate parts above it creating shadows and highlights. Just wanted to set the record straight in case anyone was turned off by that.

I'm pretty disappointed with Yamashiro. The figure itself is fairly sturdy, but the decal work that was done for her outfit is excruciatingly bad.

Parts of it are wrinkled and distorted, one part is peeling off, and a few others are scuffed and not applied correctly. This is probably the worst decal work I've seen on a figure in my 10+ years collecting.

I expected far better for a figure of this price.
