FNFiction3 months ago#75892714Look on Yahoo Japan Auctions! You should be able find it for cheaper than any retailer when it comes up.
Woah, I just checked Samus' height and apparently she's 6ft,3 without the suit. No wonder she dwarfs Clare.

Oh, thanks, I will try Yahoo auctions then. I guess I will also need a proxy as well.

In regards to Samus, yup, she is a fictionally tall person apparently haha. Only thing is, Clare looks almost starved next to her. In that sense, it feels like the proportions were not the same. Like I have Samus displayed with Scarlett from Kotobukiya that is a 1/7, but she fits in OK because the proportions feel similar.

But then again, the Claymores do have a super skinny look to them in the art. So that might be what makes Clare standout :)

By the way, I do not have the Yoko one from Alter, but that is a great figure you have :)! Terribly hard to find for a reasonable price these days too!

FNFiction3 months ago#75891725Yeah, I just think it's important to realise it goes both ways. As an example from my collection I can point out Alter's Yoko that definitely leans more towards a 1/7-7.5 even though it's stated as being a 1/8....

Agreed! I think across different manufacturers, the scales definitely do not hold too well. My Samus looked way too large next to Clare, which is how I first displayed her.

Yeah, I just think it's important to realise it goes both ways. As an example from my collection I can point out Alter's Yoko that definitely leans more towards a 1/7-7.5 even though it's stated as being a 1/8. You can see in comparison pictures compared to both Kamina 1/8 scales out there and in-universe character designs, she's definitely too big and thus not in scale.

I compared the Megahouse Clare 1/8 scale with the other Clare 1/8 scale and as they are in scale, that scale doesn't appear to run below a 1/8, ergo Faye shouldn't either due to their similar size and proportions.

Like I alluded to, it's 1/8 scales sized like Yokos that give an unrealistic expectation of all 1/8 statues. It's a complex topic that isn't as simple because then there's things like baggy clothes, moe blob proportions etc that can make other 1/8 scales appear big.

FNFiction3 months ago#75889055I have multiple Guts from Berserk 1/10 scales and I can tell you categorically - it's not.

Thanks for the info. I realize it’s bit of a hot topic reading the comments here. I really don’t have a horse in the race either way. It’s just that in most pics I have seen, she does appear quiet small. But, as you say, it might just be varying distances to the camera lens in those shots.

I also do have Clare, the only Megahouse figure I own, now that I think about it. She does feel a little smaller compared to my other 1/8 figures. Still, it’s one of my favourites and I display her with some 1/10ths in the background and it looks quiet nice to my eye. In the end, that is what it will come down to I think. If one can find a spot for the figure in ones collection, the scale is not too important if the detail level is adequate/accurate.
