Jenthehen1 month ago#81474878Yeah, you're right! I just get twitchy by people making blanket statements about these companies since it's so hit or miss - you can almost tell how the quality is going to be in advance based on whether the pics are renders or not and what issues they might have (or maybe I can tell since I've bought a bunch lol)

Yes! That first figure I've seen photos of from my friend and it looks amazing. 2nd one I actually found restocked from a GSC partner just today but it's on taobao.

I didn't do that tho. I said right in my first comment:
myselfThey figures can be alright, but they often got some flaws and are not as well crafted and detailed as other companies out there. Still good enough for a satisfying purchase every now and then. It usually already shows on the prototype if they had a good design or not. And yeah, I wrote they two times instead of their once. :P

Well, okay I'll take your word for it. However, we need more consistent quality before they can move up to the big names, agreed?
I would guess that skyrocketing is caused by not many people ordering, thus less figures made. And when pictures start appearing and the figure came out good everyone who was hesitant wants to buy one. Then the price explodes.

Jenthehen1 month ago#81474770These figures are pretty much flawless, though ITEM #791108 and ITEM #806391
Not to mention the skyrocketing aftermarket

Jenthehen1 month ago#81474672 B'Full, Fots, and Pulchra (unfortunately not Insight) have put out some really great standard PVC figures, though. Just ... do your due diligence and be mindful of the details.

Smittywerbenya1 month ago#81474693I've been pretty happy with what I've seen from Pulchra. They are not near the bottom to me. Only people complaining are basing it off their history and not the present.

Sorry, but I still disagree with both of you. Jen, you know me enough to be aware that I know the difference between the materials. And I don't think any of their PVC figures were great. They were just okay. Also, Insight is making a PVC figure now, it just got up for sale on AmiAmi yesterday or the day before I don't remember.

Smittywerbenya for me they are not on the same level as most other companies. Some of the newer ones yes, but the well established brands all do significantly better than Pulchra.
I'll give some examples:
ITEM #549344 from 3 years ago aka the wider past. The feet are really bad on this figure. She is lovely though. The paint it not that exact on many spots. But ya know, one can accept this figure as it is.
ITEM #558275 This is from 2018. Never have I seen a figure tank so hard in price right after release. It's just the worst non prize figure of Emilia out there. It looks odd, the hair are bad, the face and the paint are not well made.
ITEM #768946 2019 - I really wanted her but had to cancel (from EU store) after the JP release. User pics did not live up to a quality figure at all. Again, the hair are a major weak point in the sculpt. She is not completely terrible, but I had expected more of a non-bottom tier figure.
ITEM #850978 I pre ordered and own this figure. She came out earlier this year. She is really beautifully done as a figure... but they had to ruin that top notch impression by giving her the cheapest plastic umbrella possible and it does not hold at all unless you lean it against her and a wall.

So you see... no matter at which time of Pulchra figure making history you look - there are issues that prevent them from rising their rank to the better brands.

Figureditout1 month ago#81474640Same. B'Full is mostly trash tier. Pulchra is bottom tier. They figures can be alright, but they often got some flaws and are not as well crafted and detailed as other companies out there. Still good enough for a satisfying purchase every now and then. It usually already shows on the prototype if they had a good design or not.

I've been pretty happy with what I've seen from Pulchra. They are not near the bottom to me. Only people complaining are basing it off their history and not the present. And speaking of the comment below me. I don't remember the last time Pulchra used that material. I just remember them using resin. Only complaint I have of pulchra is their bases are plain, basic, and space hogs
