Jenthehen Otaku at Law
Crisfer (2 months ago) #70288934They’re still having reports of breakage despite “improvements”. The folks over at r/animefigures are still getting broken figures from FOTS. Yes, the frequency is less but it’s still significantly more frequent than any other figure company. They don’t deserve any other chances if they still can’t get their act together. A pity for this figure and of course with the classic overpricing typical of FOTS. RIP.

There are still some unlucky folks having issues, yes, and Fots still has problems (shoddy bases for instance), but I like their figures a lot. Their most recent, Shion, turned out really well AND the base was even much better (long metal peg that really seems like it secures her). There's just a bigger risk with these 3D print figures. I haven't received a broken one since their earliest releases, though (and I've bought quite a few Fots and Insight figures!) Some people may just have rougher post offices? Or they use slower shipping (and so less care / higher risk of the box getting tossed around / squashed)? I've received several of their figures from NY and Solaris lately without issue. Crossing my fingers that keeps up and they keep improving, bc I love their designs / characters.

Jenthehen (2 months ago) #70217868AmiAmi, Hobby Search, and HLJ won't stock the PMMA / PVC-L 3D print figures by Fots / Insight / B'Full anymore after there were such issues with breakage on the earlier releases before the company changed the material and improved the packaging. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like these shops are willing to give them another chance.
Your best bests are going to be Nippon Yasan, Big in Japan, Solaris Japan, or it seems like TOM is starting to stock them again.
