Yotsugi_Ononoki3 days ago#109688249I say that apparently sometimes they're not so good because of this post on Reddit and the fact that AmiAmi didn't want to give that person a replacement.
Although apparently they're usually pretty good, but it's still strange that AmiAmi refused to give him a replacement.

Well besides the fact this seems to be more of an AmiAmi issue rather than Mimeyoi. I did read in the post that this guy had it replaced a total of 4 times which is pretty generous from AmiAmi. Like I know there's the whole "has to be perfect" thing, but I imagine a lot of that was coming out of their own pocket. I'd argue 1 or 2 he sent back didn't even really have much of an issue. Of course, I can't say for sure, but we don't know the whole story.

AkibaMelon3 days ago#109682932Apologies for being a bit blunt, but where did you possibly read about them being not all that good!?
As another user mentioned already, Mimiyoi don't have too many figures under their belt yet but those that released are very highly regarded and extremely true to their prototypes!
Malin's pictures on Twitter look exeptional so far as well, so I'm personally not worried at all about the quality (got Taihou on order myself ♡♡)

TheKillerDemon3 days ago#109682959That's definitely a fair concern about prototypes! It definitely seems like a company-to-company basis, but in my experience, Mimeyoi seems to keep up to par in my opinion.
Regarding the Reddit post, that definitely sucks. It's surprising to me though since I read many other people absolutely loving their Duke of York. In fact, this person even said their Prince of Wales (also from Mimeyoi) was perfect in the comments. My guess is this person just got super unlucky (like an outlier). Either way I'd argue the issue at hand is quite small, especially compared to some other finished products from other companies.
I think if you are concerned about quality, Mimeyoi is one of the safer options. I'd definitely choose them over far many other more questionable companies I've seen various complaints about (like Wanderer). Sure they're no Alter, but I think they are solid enough.

I understand your opinion and you are right in what you say, anyone can have bad luck and receive a figure with a quality problem, but fortunately that is usually easily solved by contacting the seller and receiving a replacement in most cases.

However, it is still worrying that AmiAmi has not given this person a new one.

Yotsugi_Ononoki3 days ago#109682934About the quality issues I mentioned, it was mostly because of this post on Reddit.
And about the other thing you mention, the prototypes, in general, are better than the final product, although this may vary according to the company.

TheKillerDemon3 days ago#109682820Really? I've pretty much have only heard good things about Mimeyoi. It's a new company where basically all figures have been fantastic for a great price. If anything, I'm super excited for future Mimeyoi projects.
I think they've only released like 6 or so figures and they're all absolutely loved. I mean you can tell the quality just based off the pictures of the prototype.

TheKillerDemon3 days ago#109682820I mean you can tell the quality just based off the pictures of the prototype. You can never, garbage companies rely on prototypes to bait people into buying.

That said I think Mimeyoi seems alright so far, not particularly impressive though.
