billowsandsmoke2 days ago#90765815Ah, I didn't know about the change in packaging. Here's my question though: if the decision to remove the background (and produce the circle bases instead) happened before the production of the oval bases, then why did they even produce the oval bases to begin with? They would've needed to change the design to remove the slot anyway, no? Your guess is still as good as mine, but I just think that part is really weird. What I meant was that they went from oval base + backdrop, to only the oval base, to the round base. But then again, it's only a guess. Sorry that my last reply was kind of confusing.

MINERALWATERRR2 days ago#90716741I think they removed the backdrop to reduce production costs, then switched to the round base to make it even cheaper. It seems that they replaced the blister with cardboard and bubblewrap for the round base version to reduce costs as well. I could be wrong, though. Ah, I didn't know about the change in packaging. billowsandsmoke3 days ago#90710437Ahhhhh okay so here's what I suspect happened. My guess is that they were originally planning to do some kind of deluxe version of her, where there was the acrylic background acting as a counterweight. But something got messed up in the manufacturing process, and they ended up with a bunch of these oval bases with no slot for the background. Instead of making more round bases, they just used the oval bases anyway (and it looks like they gave them to mostly Chinese and western shops?)
For the record, I got mine at TOM and she's already fallen over and gotten a big black scuff on one of her buns, so...

distari3316 days ago#89911074Just got her today from TOM, with the oval base. This is from an aliexpress listing, the oval base makes a lot more sense with the backdrop. Mine didn't have the backdrop or even the holes for the backdrop.

I have the Sonico coming from TOM too, hopefully that is the circle base.

Seems they have a few left over at RightStuf for pre-order.
Hopefully, my order goes through.

Got her today, nothing broken and the ears weren't a hassle to put on so that's good. I am totally worried about her oval base though, it really does look like it's lifting off the ground cause of Miku's weight. So if anyone happens to be selling just her circle base please hmu, thanks!

Just found out some figures of her have a circle base and not an oval... I feel ripped off haha the oval base takes up so much room and feels unstable. The sonico Bicute bunny had a circle base though so idk what the deal is..,

mclmin14 days ago#89992169Can anyone who's bought the aliexpress figure confirm if it's the real deal? This is the only listing I could find for her.An oval base...not suggested to buy her at this shop as she will be wobbly and may even lean with an oval base.

Does anyone know where I can find her with the ROUND base? I just received mine with oval and lord, it's wobbly and leaning already.. please let me know! <3

Got the round base from Ninoma!

She’s so cute and high quality!

This series is amazing - my only gripe is how wobbly they are on the bases / may be prone to leaning.
