Linkeatbanana9 days ago#101228288I don't want to get too deeply into it, but someone close to me accumulated a lot of debt that several people had to help pay off to avoid their personal bankruptcy. That was the motivation for my comments here and the catalyst for my strong feelings on what I believe to be insincere and predatory selling tactics...
You should have been upfront with your personal biases when you came in guns slinging.

COAL9 days ago#101264244Wow! You did an amazing job at recreating Dororo's likeness, especially for the limitations!! Her eyes are perfect on yours, the added eye liner on the top really helped as well as the other added details. Also the eyebrows being slightly shorter are also more accurate too! I agree with basically everything & the hair being out of her eyes/overall sculpt looks fantastic! Looks extremely well done and I hope Figureama is able to see this! If they don't make a 2nd head option for Dororo I hope they update it just a tad bit more like yours and 1 would be more than fine^^ ~Great Work @Tjoco!!!!

Thank you very much. If anyone wants to see her portrait improved on the actual statue, I would advise you to tell Figurama so on their Facebook page; Figurama Collectors Hub. I have made a post there regarding my edit btw: www.facebook.co...

Tjoco10 days ago#101219242Ok, so, since I'm a perfectionist I just couldn't be satisfied with the first Dororo portrait or the revised portrait. Don't get me wrong, they're good sculpts, but they're not fully accurate to her appearance in the show, and don't fully capture her likeness. I have therefore spent a bunch of hours reworking and trying to improve her portrait using GIMP editing software. I am not a professional, but I have tried my best to make her portrait as accurate as I could, and I personally think I did a pretty good job. I both checked, double checked and triple checked that I was considering every aspect of her character design when making the tweaks.

Linkeatbanana9 days ago#101228288Thank you for your thoughtful and polite (a rarity here) response. I sincerely apologize for my insensitive wording. I don't want to get too deeply into it, but someone close to me accumulated a lot of debt that several people had to help pay off to avoid their personal bankruptcy. That was the motivation for my comments here and the catalyst for my strong feelings on what I believe to be insincere and predatory selling tactics, and I was wrong to generalize a group of people based on personal experience. I retract that part of my comment and, again, I sincerely apologize. I'm always willing to learn more about these topics, and I'm grateful that you have pointed out my ignorance to me and have corrected me on it. I will try to do better.
I’m very sorry that happened to you and the other person involved, it can be very scary when corporations can be deceitful and harmful (regretfully I work for a corporation that matches that exact description!) so I completely understand your compassion towards this subject, especially when it is something so personal to you. Thank YOU for your kind response, I appreciate it and I do hope that the situation has been resolved and is better now for it!

Also solely to keep it figure related, I would like to just say to those who have preordered, I’m truly excited for you! I haven’t worked with Figurama yet, but the work is unarguably stunning. And for those who haven’t preordered, I’m excited for you as well! You can always put that money towards another figure you’ve been eyeing if this isn’t the one (or producing company) for you! Have fun collecting everyone!! ❤️

yamppi9 days ago#101228176Considering what you just said, a very harmful and stereotyped perception of someone with OCD, I wish you would be more considerate with your words. I’ve not done a lot of reading in this thread due to it being the usual response to Figurama, so don’t worry I’m not hopping in because of that, you’re entitled to your own opinion of the company as is everyone else here! Why I am hopping in, is because you are making blatant ableist statement towards an entire group of people diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. If you want to speak of psychological tricks companies are using to prey on consumers, please understand that they can affect ANYONE. Having OCD, or any other neurodivergency, is not a defining factor in this. While I do support everyone sharing their honest views and opinions about companies, as it gives others food for thought, I do not agree with generalizing an entire group of people, specifically by their anxiety disorder, for the sake of voicing distaste of a company. It comes off as crude and pretentious, and you are speaking over several voices when you say such statements.Thank you for your thoughtful and polite (a rarity here) response. I feel very strongly about companies using psychological tricks to influence costumers, because it's a predatory business strategy that preys on influencable and impressionable people, such as people with OCD.

Leikeima989 days ago#101228089I agree with you and I really wanted to write something too but it's no use anyway :DYou are free to write if you like (or send me a DM). Refute my arguments, prove me wrong and I will admit that I was wrong. It's called being an adult, not posting LOLs and smilies with no substance. I had not targeted comments at any users here before yesterday, but some felt so strongly about me criticizing a company they like that they attacked me. If people build so much of their identity around their consumerism and favorite companies that they feel personally attacked when someone criticizes a company they like, that's not my problem.

I feel very strongly about companies using psychological tricks to influence costumers, because it's a predatory business strategy that preys on influencable and impressionable people, such as people with OCD. That's what my comments were about. They were targeted at the company only, and I repeat, no company is your friend. All they want is your money, which is fine and legitimate, it's the sole purpose of a company. What is not fine are some of the strategies used to get that money.

And silly me, I only just now found the setting that disables notification e-mails for comment quotes. I am finally free of all those e-mails lol.

Linkeatbanana9 days ago#101227998I have not once mentioned my degrees, but I realize reading comprehension is lacking for some people here, and there are obvious language barriers as well (which is totally normal, I'm not a native speaker of English, either, so this is not an diss or anything, even if some will want to understand it that way). If people can't read, that's on them, not me. But then some people here are also falling for a PR person sitting in some call center copy-pasting slightly modified text templates into this comment section. How gullible. That's what gets a LOL from me.
