PanchitoMatte (7 days ago) #25881112Is that so...? Well, then am I missing something? All I could find online about resin, as a material, was that it hardens by intense heat, and that once hardened, it cannot be reshaped by heat. Is resin a particularly brittle material? Surely a company would learn their lesson and package the items appropriately, no? If not, why even make Kiriha out of resin in the first place? Surely its not an overly cheap material, otherwise they wouldn't be charging well over ¥13,000. Also, aren't garage kits made from resin?
View spoilerHide spoilerI feel so confused! It sure seems like resin is not special in any way.

Resin is extremely brittle, in fact if you look up reviews for Yukina on Amazon.jp many Japanese buyers were pissed cuz she arrived broken to them.

They use resin casting because it is cheaper (machine wise)(correct me if I'm wrong here). Pricing has nothing to do with the material (in most cases, licensing does). Packing is tricky because figure companies in Japan still refuses to acknowledge international buyers, that is why they take packaging lightly in most cases (plus packing for international shipping is much more expensive). I could be wrong but this is all the information I could dig up so far.

Jason_Wander (7 days ago) #25874466Oh I loved the figures.
Koneko was done quite well, and while Yukina could've been better she was still good.
No the problem is she is resin, and pulchra doesn't do crap for padding or protection inside the box. So pretty much everyone got a broken fig minus a few exceptions.
IceMan45 (8 days ago) #25859510The problem here is not the quality of the figure. The problem here is the material, which is known for being rigid and 4 out of 10 resin figures arrive broken.
(might end up buying her despite the fact that she is resin... might end up regretting but she's the only decent Kiriha figure so far...)

PanchitoMatte (8 days ago) #25855123Based on what I can see here, and the result of item #549344, I actually think this figure will turn out to be as good as you could possibly expect (the character design is quite simple; it's just a matter of getting the features to look faithful to the source material). I, for one, like this Kiriha a lot! Now, whether she's worth ¥13,800 is an entirely different discussion...

Jason_Wander (8 days ago) #25827556HA!!! Fool me twice Pulchra but not getting me a 3rd time. Resin figs of Koneko and Yukina are still fresh in my memory.

Cyzero (1 month ago) #24095320Feel like it would fit her better with a more playful/naughty look, but figure in general looks promising.
Something like a half-grin with one of her pointed teeth showing? That would be really fitting

That... and a more credible breast IMHO. She looks stiff (that arm and leg). I certainly hope they improve the pose, because Kiriha's old school character design was quite nice.

So there is a figure of her, after all.
