Japan isn't as focused on kurumi as the west is. the novels don't sell well at all in Japan. And foreign sales should be negligible because there aren't any english novels and the anime is just 2 shitty short episodes. Even inside the DAL discord basically no one cares for DAB. People might like Kurumi, but they just don't like DAB, people also really have it out for the author, they like to hate on him a lot.
But in the end it's like you said that Kurumi figs just sell, just doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it's DAB I suppose and even then I wonder how the DAB figs rate among the regular LN ones for more generic collectors etc
Didn't realize you were talking about Date A Bullet specifically, fair enough. But then, that's just where they're getting the designs from. There are plenty of countries outside of the "west", and bigger than Japan, where Kurumi fans reside, so looking at Japanese/Western popularity to try and determine why figures of her sell so well is kinda... short sighted?

But the statues do, especially ones of Kurumi. Also, they don't account for streaming licencing & foreign sales. In the JP blu-ray rankings.
This series has a relatively small, but devoted fanbase. Kurumi's fanbase, within that, is particularly strong.

I could've sworn I had seen this art before but I can't find it, oh well. Guess it's kinda a generic pose anyway, just gotta wait for color proto now. They also are really milking dab huh? Didn't expect for it to get this much traction since both the ln and anime don't sell well

Totally agree. I was excited for what they could bring to the table, but at this point I've actually grown wary of them - these announcements are feeling like vaporware.
first of all vaporware term can only be used on software or hardware.
Second Its pretty normal, they are a resin figurines company finally investing in PVC market and still researching the market and buying rights.
Pretty sure in few months they Will have a painted Prototype.
Im very hyped with their vocaloid line.

Is this company going to do anything else but announce things? It would be nice to actually see a prototype.

Kinda wish they would slow down the announcements and just release a figure or two so I know what to expect from the line
