The Kallax cubes have been around for many years here in Germany. Unfortunately they don't seem to be available outside of Europe.
A lot of people are using Besta frames as bases for their Detolfs www.ikea.com/au...
Not sure if it's as stable as a Kallax though...
Thanks for the reply Chris :) Oh ok, I'm of mostly German heritage but born in Aus. That's a shame. The problem I have is the two part Besta unit is 8cm too short to fit three Detolf's but my house is too small for the next size up. My other option is getting two singular Besta's with a 10cm gap between them but not sure if the will look silly.

Very clean set-up! Did you get the bases under the detolfs from IKEA, too?
Thank you! Yes, they are from Ikea - single Kallax shelving units with optional doors, which are super easy to install :-)

Nice set up! Looks so neat now *.*
It's really a shame... the singular kallax are perfect for it - plus I think that the besta shelves are a bit too pricy, considering that you'd buy them as a riser for a glass cabinet.
