Sekhmet (4 years ago) #1842073Yes! Yes! May I also ask where you got that middle cabinet from? I absolutely cannot find a plain cabinet/display case with a glass door to display my figures in. The Detolfs seem too easy to tip over (I have several cats so I need something heavy and sturdy) so I am looking for something exactly like the cabinet/display case that you have in the middle there. Sorry if its been already answered, I am new here :)
Looks awesome!

Detolfs also come with materials to secure it. In case you didn't know.

dmil5512 (4 years ago) #1792781The risers for the Deadly Sins are just the clear plastic spindle coverings from when one buys a pack of CDs :P...The other risers are a combination of the slabs of the leftover acrylic I had from making the cabinet door and acrylic cubes used to display baseballs, kind of like this www.proplayersu...

thanks for the great ideas!
am trying to find some acrylic risers, but its either too expensive (to ship to my country) or too small (meant for jewelries)...saw some use glass cups as risers too.
anyway, nice setup!! thumbs up!

Thanks again for all the comments and compliments! I didn't think it would be as popular as it was, since I've seen a lot better setups, but I'm glad you guys liked it :)

skytoast (4 years ago) #1791013Ok cool thanks for the blogpost link on the tutorial. If it's okay with you, I've linked/added your article to the club "Detolf" on MFC CLUB #711. Also did you re-paint/stain your Detolf? Or are these the dark-brown production ones? I noticed in your tutorial, it was the standard birch effect color. If you painted it, any tips? I want to repaint mine.
I did end up painting my DETOLF because I wanted a darker color than the birch. I used two coats of oil-based primer in order to make the paint stick, and then two coats of dark brown paint to match the middle cabinet door. The paint looks pretty good, but it can still come off really easily if you're not careful, so that's why I put something down on the bottom shelf so figures wouldn't be in contact with the paint. I also recommend letting them air out for a while after you paint them, since they will have a tougher time drying completely (and getting rid of the paint smell) once the cabinet is put together.

fatman1222 (4 years ago) #1791161Hi dmil5512,
Can you tell me what riser you used for the 7 deadly sins in your display setup. I am trying to find risers that are strong enough to support the stand the figure comes with. Thank you so much.
zito9 (4 years ago) #1792011May I know what you use as the risers?
Thanks!
