About

I'm just some guy that loves anime, manga, and video games. I also really got into movies when I got my part-time job at a movie theater in very late August 2012. I really like learning more about how anime works, particularly the production and how well certain stuff does, the Blu-ray/DVD sales, as well as the light novel/manga boosts the source material can get (as the discs aren't the only thing that matter in most instances). I'm also a member of the GLORIOUS PHYSICAL MEDIA MASTER RACE and vastly prefer to own my media physically. Streams are nice for trying out a show, it's how I consume most of my anime these days, but they don't last and are usually not as of high-quality (and with simulcasts, are the TV version). I want something tangible (preferably a nice premium release) and to support the industry more.

I got into anime November 2008 when I was 14. I had watched anime casually when I caught it on TV since I was a kid on places like Kids WB, Cartoon Network and their Toonami programming block. When Toonami got cancelled I became rather sad and frustrated at the cancellation of the programming block in September 2008. Soon after I kept hearing talk about this anime called Bleach and tried it on [adult swim] starting with episode 87.

I quickly fell in love with Bleach which ended up becoming my gateway anime, and I still think well of it to this day, albeit not as much back when I was new to the anime fandom. I started watching more and more anime on [adult swim] such as Code Geass, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, The Big O II, InuYasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, and later started to get into more shows not on [adult swim] like Suzuka, Shakugan no Shana, Karin, Lucky*Star, School Rumble, and quickly ended up becoming an otaku. Anime is now my biggest passion, surpassing video games which for the longest time was my biggest passion.

I didn't start figure collecting until late 2013/early 2014. My favorite scales for figures are 1/4 scale and 1/6 scale.

Sure you can upload the picture and then update the entry with the higher quality and scale too, please while your at it(one entry less to update). Several of the teaser which where shown at the china content and game expo where brought to wonfes where we have better pictures from, so please go ahead.

As for the lists, the update list will come tomorrow morning, as usual(depending on the time zones), as for the news list i really don't find any time to tend to it, this is so much this year and we have so many entries not in the db yet etc.
I know that knight-hart as a mixed bag of everything blog but if you're looking for a new list in devil's style there probably won't be one this year.
Expect someone else feels brave enough.

BigOnAnime (4 years ago) #2651079And a bunch of other things. I now have to be careful about how much I spend until I know how much my tax refund is going to be, though I'm already banking on it a bit (Expecting a bit more than last year as I worked more and minimum wage rose). As for Cecilia, will eventually get her. Animate USA for whatever reason never got her, though now she's not too bad to get. Dat exchange rate and Amazon Japan allowing international shipping on my GSC-distributed figures.
I think that's what they call the preorder trap. :p I tried preordering when I first started and being a fickle person, I had to cancel and I felt bad about it. Besides, the wait for things to finally get released is excruciating, I can't. ;_; I now only buy preowned because I want things now, like right now! It's much lighter on the wallet as well with price drops though some things do go up in price so I guess it balances out in the end. Yeah amazon.jp opening up to international customers recently is great news!

BigOnAnime (4 years ago) #2645385Nope, not too much of a Charlotte fan, and I've got so many pre-orders already. ;_;
You just had to preorder those pricey 1/4 scales lol. How about Cecilia? ITEM #198435 :)

BigOnAnime (4 years ago) #2513118Those T2 Art*Girls are too hard to resist, help. There goes part of my income tax return when I get it early next year... ITEM #236320
Also you can now see which of those figures with a wishability of 3 I need. LIST #40708

And the Tony collection begins. >:D Thank goodness I am kinda picky. Out of all the T2 Art☆Girls, I only have two on my need list: Iris ITEM #156661 & flight attendant ITEM #183964. But then there are the other Tony figures from the Shining Series. :s

Excellent! May we hoard loads of cute plastic girls!

BigOnAnime (4 years ago) #2406972Right now the number of figures I need is at 142. I have a document that keeps track of the 3's I feel I need, 4's that are in my list, 5's, etc. BTW this ITEM #236636 for now is a 4, hopefully Griffon doesn't fuck it up. If they do, I'm going to be furious. It looks amazing with the prototype, hopefully it doesn't look much worse like their previous Rias. ITEM #144433 Seriously compare the prototype pictures to the Hobbysearch ones, holy crap Griffon... www.1999.co.jp/...
Why must Rias struggle to get good figures? orz If only Alter, Good Smile Company, or Kotobukiya regularly made them... The FREEing 1/4 scale one is the best I've seen so far, but she's completely sold out and going for hundreds now. Seems every Rias figure sells out and goes for a lot. She's crazy popular. Such a dilemma. Do I pre-order that Rias from Griffon and risk getting something worse than they promised, or do I not pre-order, allow her to sell out, go for hundreds of dollars online, and regret not pre-ordering her if she turns out good?

You didn't preorder that figure, did you? I don't see it in your ordered list so I'm assuming the best. All Griffon figures are crap until proven otherwise lol, which will be known soon enough when it gets released. Like the HobbySearch pics you linked, something like that is just not worth the preorder price in my opinion.

Holy shit, I assumed most FREEing 1/4 scales would drop in price, especially the newer ones with that inflated 18k yen price tag but it appears popularity plays a big role too. According to a guy on her item page, the asking price for her is 25k yen now. :s (There's another Rias figure ITEM #133894 with a ridiculous aftermarket price.) I'm guessing the 1/4 scale Infinite Stratos line is gonna end up the same given the popularity. Speaking of which, you didn't order Cecilia?

Going on 500 now I see. My wishlist would've been much larger as well if I didn't make a second wishlist to put all the stuff I- ouh pretty!
