xkirax (8 months ago) #19675724Hi! Excuse me for annoying you one more time...
I just wanted to ask you about the MegaHouse's emailing device.. how can you contact them? (I saw you did several times before)
As well as you, I'm curious about the endless delay of Hokage Kakashi. I'm not expecting much from them, but I find it odd as Kakashi's figures are usually selling pretty well...
(Sorry again for my approximate English, hope it won't be a problem when trying to communicate with them)

Josine (8 months ago) #19228235Are those N-Y conversion rates or google's? Because N-Y's rates are even more fucked up than paypal's rates. Also I think a retailer would order from the Koto site, so that's some pounds less. Not sure if they'd get a special retailers price but I can imagine that AnimeUK is not some shady retailer like N-Y that basically proxies exclusives from other sites and resells them. Anyway don't get me wrong I'm not trying to prove you or your calculation wrong since I'm sure you know your own country best, I'm just baffled that such a high price could be justified while other EU webshops have him for at least 40 euros less and in what you are telling me I don't really understand where that price difference comes from.

I don't use their conversion rates for estimates. I've paid for my figure, I can see what it came to with shipping and all.

Animegami is the retailer, not AnimeUK as it doesn't exist here :) you are probably thinking of AnimUK, but that's not the retailer in question. Neither of them are big retailers here though so they have to make some sort of profit. Store wise there aren't that many retailers in the UK that sell anime figures and especially exclusive/limited edition figures/statues.

We can't draw a conclusion as to how Animegami is acquiring their stock, nor how much it costs them per figure or how much the shipping is.

The only thing we have to go on is how much it costs from a proxy retailer like Nippon and personal experience by people importing to the UK.

I understand you found the price tag laughable, but it's difficult to be a UK collector, not only does the retailers have a monopoly but they have to consider all the charges too :)

Rikudou (8 months ago) #19228202Archonia does not reside in the UK, compare the customs charges per country and see for yourself. UK customs charges are notorious. UK customs charges add charges upon the shipping as well.
If I were to not undervalue my packages, customs would hit me and I would pay 21% of what I paid (items worth + shipping) and if the value is above 150 euros, I pay 4% extra over the items value (without shipping). That doesn't sound very different from what you are telling me about the UK I think. What would make custom charges in the UK more expensive from the rest of Europe?

Rikudou (9 months ago) #19059881That's nothing abnormal :) a lot of retailers make specific page only available to be seen with a direct link so customers that already purchased it/pre-ordered can see it while a normal search necessarily can't. In short yes it is normal.
I already feared the case "after all we're not able to take orders for this product" or that kind of situation haha
At least it wasn't near of the actual release, so I would have ordered somewhere else but still... I feel like I'm stressing too much...
Thanks for being that kind and patient~
