About
Lethe. There’s little I love more than giving my passions shape — be it in graphics, writing or something else — and to see that passion in other people’s creations and collections. Having amassed more than a thousand volumes of manga and a good amount of video games dating back to the PlayStation, collecting isn’t new territory to me. Still, it took a whole while for me to set foot into merch and artbook collecting; lack of funds and information made me not give it any consideration sooner, despite having longed for nothing more than Sailor Moon merchandise as a child.
I bought my first (trading) figure in September 2015, and my first artbook in June 2016, though I consider November 2016 my actual start into merch collecting. Long story short, I slammed down around 140 USD for a Gwendolyn scale, sealing my fate in just a few clicks. My advance into this hobby is largely thanks to my online friends, and I consider sharing this common passion and all the excitement with them the most enjoyable aspect of the hobby by far.
My days as a collector are spent obsessively perusing secondhand markets online, comparing prices national and international, crying over shipping fees, crying some more about the ~60 USD import limit (lest I pay a hefty sum for additional fees), poring over finances multiple times a month, complaining over insubstantial item condition info, spamming friends with all of that and linking them to stuff relevant to their interests while listening to their own sobbing.
When I’m not doing any of that, I’m most likely reading manga, playing video games, or coding and writing on fansites. Depending on when you catch me, I might be typing up a wall of analysis that might just be worth reading, or swooning over otoge boys and driving everyone away with the sheer amount of cheese.
Characters marked as favourites in the sidebar are characters I enjoy browsing merch of — ones fortunate to have merch dedicated to them, at least — rather than overall favourites.
