    Hello, I'm a bit worried about a refund I received from the Good Smile Company online shop for an order I cancelled. They didn't issue my refund from the original transaction, but instead paid it to me as if I'm a seller/merchant and they're a customer buying goods from me, so I ended up getting charged some PayPal fees.

    The overall amount I received in my refund is also $10 less than what I paid for my order (I paid GSC $50, and GSC transferred $40 back to me, excluding the PayPal fees). Has anyone else cancelled a GSC order and got a lower refund? Is this normal?

    It's my first time cancelling an order with GSC and getting a refund from them. They've also delayed the refund by 18+ days and kept delaying my order for 8+ months. It wasn't a preorder, it was an in-stock item from the Stay At Home campaign.

    If the transaction is older than 6 months, then I believe with PayPal you cannot issue a refund in the normal way a merchant would do so, hence processing it as a payment.

    Dick move not covering the PayPal fees, given the nature of the cancellation. Might want to check what they refunded in yen to see if they did refund the same or if you're at least partially being dicked over by exchange rates.

    Yeah, GSC didn't cover the PayPal fees :/ After I saw your response, I checked what they sent in yen and it was like JPY900 less than what I paid them. I brought it up, they apologised and they finally refunded the correct amount this time (+ they covered PayPal fees). All's well now, phew!
