    If you're asking if they undervalue, the answer is no. Haven't had anything from them lately, so can't remember if they mark as gift. I'd assume not though.

    So I'd recommend calculating fees based on the merchandise rules. So import VAT would apply for anything over €22, assuming your location is correct on your profile.

    Nippon Yasan offers this via the 'transi logistic' shipping type, as they have a warehouse in the EU they ship items to, so they pay VAT to import it there.

    None of the other Japanese stores have this, so no, they don't have a method for you to prepay VAT and save on the handling fee.

    Has anyone ever used epacket light for shipping from hobby search to the USA? Wondering how quick it is compared to RSAL (which takes over a month for me). I’ve tried international epacket from white rabbit express and it got to me in just a few days but I’ve never tried epacket light. I want my items quicker but it has no insurance so I’m hesitant.

    They typically take 2-3 business days. If you pay on the end of Friday and they're not working on that weekend then typically add 1-2 days to that.

    I've also noticed that your shipping method of choice will affect it. For instance, SAL may take longer to get out than EMS. You can always ask about the status though, their customer service is very friendly. :>

    Has anyone tried ordering back-order items with HS? How long yours took until HS got them?

    I've back-ordered merchandises, keychains etc, placed the order on 19th April (the merch I ordered also released just in about a month from the time I made the back-order), but still no news. I'm reluctant to ask because not just I have asked them this and that for this order, I believe they will only ask me to be patient...

    It's just that if it's something that cannot be restocked, I wish they'd tell me ASAP so that I can get a similar one from other places, before that one out of stock too.

    Or have you ever back-ordered something, and got notice from HS that turned out the item is out-of-stock/production-terminated from the manufacturer, so they cancel your order/remove the item from your order?

    I remember having had back-ordered ITEM #607921 and ITEM #607922 from them back in mid-october 2017 (those items were released in late september).
    After checking out my account's history, it took 15 days between order date and date of shipment.

    Even when accounting the Golden Week in your case, this seems too long since April 19th IMO. Definitely contact them and ask them nicely. Their customer support is great, I'm sure they won't mind checking out and answer you.

    Thanks for the suggestion, sent them an email yesterday morning, but wasn't replied yet till their working time ended, so seems like I gotta wait till Monday.

    Once, they didn't reply to my email (sent thru order inquiry), and no action done regarding my requests there. After some days I sent them another and they replied that one.

    2 months!? Hfft and then the item's notice said "usually in 30 days"... But it's been more than 50 days anyway, so I'll guess I'll wait a bit more >< Thanks for sharing your experiences!

    I mean I didn't mind since that order was purely just back ordered items, and I'd rather then give it a fair shot in looking (since it wasn't a popular series at the time) than just "oh we couldn't find it haha". But they do email you if they're unable to. I've done backorder items from AmiAmi as well and they've taken a while.

    Its just a game of patience. They should reply to you on Monday when they come back since you sent a message. They're super friendly.

    So after more than 50 days, in noon I saw My Page in HS and saw that the items back-ordered from same manufacturers finally got their status changed to "stock-out". Afternoon, I got email telling me they cannot secure the items, and offer me to cancel the order whole/partially.

    Thanks for keeping us informed. Too bad you weren't able to get the items... But at least you're no longer in the dark about them and can now freely search from them elsewhere.
    But lesson of the story, yeah, always shoot up a friendly message to HS' customer support when in doubt. They are among the best out there.
