So they still appear to be shipping to the UK and marking the package as gift
The problem with this is that Vat is applied to gifts at a much lower rate than to sales
I wish they would actually list the goods correctly on the customs form as sale of goods
At the moment as they don't allow you to prepay the vat I am getting hit by excessive customs charges.
Cutting down on my orders with them as other shops are offering pre-vat payment so I don't have to get extra customs handling charges.
As others have noted their prices are also more than other shops, add on the extra cost they charge for shipping and they are no longer competitive
Not had a problem with them otherwise but not had any problems with the other retailers I use either.

Hello! Anyone had a figure shipped through seamail? :O I was wondering how long it is for them to arrive from Hobby Search? Cause usually seamail for me takes about 1-3 months, but it's already been 4 months for me and I see no sign of my figure lol
I'm just in Southeast Asia as well. OTL

That's really strange. I'm from Europe and bought this - ITEM #919631 - from them. They shipped her out around new Years and arrived in my country in the first days of March, so 2 months. This is also assuming that the ship she was on was most likely unloaded at Rotterdam which is almost on the other end of the continent for me.

I would use the PayPal claim as a last resort. First contact them and ask them to send an inquiry about your package to Japan post. Also check what your estimate for arrival is. I've heard of stories about people receiving their surface packages after 7 months of waiting.

They started doing it back in November. Someone posted about it here a while back after receiving an email about it, but here's a link to the info: www.1999.co.jp/...

Weird - I don’t order too much from them since they’re so obnoxious about cancellations so I hadn’t noticed! They are good for like keychains and acrylic stands etc.
I wonder if they got dinged or something - seems an odd thing for a Japanese shop to do.
