Yeah I assume with the virus, most people have halted figure purchases. I had a couple coming next month but they got pushed to July. Max Factory KOSMOS is still slated for May I think but I expect her to be delayed.

Yeah, I've basically stopped collecting with the virus. And selling a heap too. After moving into our house I've been spending more time and money on interior decorating and furniture than figures. It's like I'm a totally different person ahah.

    Strange days for all.

Also barely ever on this website anymore haha.

All of my figures are delayed for months and months now, some were even being delayed like crazy before this whole mess. It's hard to say when I will even get a new figure now, even ones I've paid for. I'm certainly not going to be impulse buying any pre-owned figs during this time, just because of financial uncertainty looming over the remainder of the year.

That said, tonight a figure I really want ITEM #946437 is going on pre-order and since it's alter it'll probably not be out until 2022 so I can just pre-order now and worry later.

I have one remaining preorder figure from GSC, scheduled for July. I'm sure it will be delayed. Right now, with Japan Post delivering nothing to the US, it's basically impossible to get anything shipped from Japan. Amiami and others are offering DHL, but that costs like 2X what EMS does, and my one and only experience with DHL from Amazon Japan was so terrible I refuse to have anything shipped that way.

I like that Alter St. Louis too, but I'd only take the full version, and I can't really justfiy paying nearly 30K for a figure.

This new Racing Miku ITEM #886920 is cute, but it's an unkown (to me anyway) company, looks like a potential leaner, and is 20K.

The exchange rate is steadily worsening lately too making everything even more expensive.

I think I'm being priced out of this hobby with the ever-increasing figure prices.

All my orders in the past two months have been delayed to June or July cause of the virus. Don't even know if anything will come out this month either too.

I was excited for Alter's Alice and Koto's Bishoujo Miku till I saw the price lol.

Starting prices for most figures lately are at $160-$180, once $200 becomes the base price for 1/8th scales. I'm gonna just quit the hobby and keep what I have at home. I still love this hobby, prices are just killing me.

Sunshine Shimmer's art is out and she's cute
Wanna see the art for the Mera bishoujo too

Figure prices haven't gotten to the point where they're pushing me out of the hobby quite yet but what's happening is that my money seems like it goes so much further in my other hobbies, so I expect my orders are going to be very limited once my current list of pre-ordered stuff is all delivered to me. Thankfully I have figures on the way (hopefully) all the way through the back half of 2021 so I can see how bad it is then and see what the future of this hobby is with me.

I like her for the most part, but I really dislike that ridge that runs from her nose to the point of her chin; I always hate that when they do it on figures, and Shunya's art didn't suggest she should have this.

I could buy a figure like the heavy armament Atago or Takao for that price.

I'll keep what I have too, maybe cull a few things, but I don't think I'll be buying much more. It's not just the prices it's a combination of things, few figures coming out I want, the fact I have 80 figures now which is approaching some kind of limit of what I figured I'd ever have, and a little bit of less interest too, which is just because I tend to kind of rotate in and out of a more active interest in various hobbies.

    Hello guys and girls

I'm in the same boat, figures prices getting out of hand, shipping cost are also expensive, customs, etc. All this makes it very difficult to continue with the hobby, or at least buy things.

I can still enjoy watching the new figures coming out, so I'm sure I'll be in the hobby for a while and maybe buy a figure when possible.

Summer Wonder Festival had been previously moved to November 1 and renamed to August Wonfes (I didn't know this), but now that has been canceled so the next one will be the usual winter one, assuming that also doesn't get moved or canceled.

    figsoku.net/blo...

With all the delays, I would suspect there might not be much for the companies to show anytime soon anyway, as production of prototypes is likely being impacted as well.

I see there's an article on the front page; not sure if it was there when I posted.

Anyway, that mentions the change from summer to fall was done already because of the Olympics, not a recent delay because of the virus, so that's why I didn't know, or didn't remember, that change.

new Elf Mura figure ITEM #806236 up for pre-order now and I'll probably get it. Shame it couldn't go on during the TOM points promotion but I'll probably still order from TOM and just use my existing points to get the price down to $150 for the free shipping. I've noticed their promotions have been pretty shit lately so I might just spend out my points and let my premium lapse if the shipping charge isn't too crazy.

*edit - She went up on TOM just a few hours before the end of the promotion and I managed to snag her for less than what I would pay on amiami after shipping, along with a decent points bonus. I still think TOM is kind of bad now, but this time it worked out for me. In all likelihood the next time there's one of those 1/4 scale bunny girls that looks great i'll just burn out all my points ordering one and be done with TOM.

Echoing the thoughts of ridiculous figure prices. I usually only purchase a couple figures a year so it's not too bad, but it feels like pretty soon we'll be paying Sideshow prices for 1/7th scales.
