    I just see, and have always seen, the downvoters as insecure, self loathing little s**ts who need to take it out on everyone else. So if all else fails, and they don't remove it, just try and adopt this mindset - It changes it from hurtful, to simply an annoyance.

    People are bigots. Can't stand views or opinions they don't agree with. Don't be a bigot. Or you'll create an Arthur Fleck.

    migur (1 month ago) #68318732You dont have to turn on the voting system. I always turn it off. People attach too much value on a like or dislike. I write also some content but i do it because i feel like it, not because of the persuit of likes. I'm kinda new, so how do you turn it off?

    When you create a new blog article, there are options at the bottom, one of which is to allow ratings (or include scores; I forget which is which). You can turn them off, but still have the option to let people leave actual comments.

    However, for comments to articles and on item entry pages, comments there can be up or down voted, and there is no way to turn them off. And as you see, here in the forum, there is no up or down voting of comments.

    Bummer, I was hoping there was this thing in your settings where you can hide the voting option. If that was the case, then people wouldn't be complaining to begin with. Thanks for your answer anyways!

    WanderingWastrel (1 month ago) #68318697I honestly don't think there's a point in doing so. The owners/operators of the board have clearly shown that nothing will change. Users have adapted to the situation as they chose; either leaving, or just using the board to manage their collection and being quiet otherwise, or carrying on as usual regardless, or whatever.
    I don't think there's enough people left who care anymore.

    Yes exactly this. I use MFC to manage my collection pretty much and that’s it. I considered leaving it permanently but decided not to as it’s a good archiving system for what you own and also POs etc.

    Tenma (1 month ago) #68308769Completely unrelated but also i would like to add that some users still use external linking abuse on social media to become POTD or higher.
    Can it be added to the rules that this is not allowed please?

    Just curious, but how would that be implemented? The only way I can think of is asking the photographer to delete their posts on other sites, but that can't really be forcefully moderated by MFC's staff.

    No,that's absolutely not what i meant sorry i was not more clear about that ^^;
    of course they can post there own pictures on social media but some users post them with the link to the picture on MFC to boost the likes and clicks to get POTD or higher.

    If a by example there ia a red warning banner that it is not allowed maybe it will stop.

    On the down voting issue of course users can have there own opinion and thank goodness for that but some just use it to be mean to others and that's just horrible.

    But by all means do not let it stop you from posting and other things.
