i guess the status was not updated being out of stock, or they got less than they thought


also anyone else have only ferry as option? was checking a native preorder but only ferry is available

I received an email from them directly in my spam box and looked around about them and I am surprised about the comments here seeming to point the site is legit after reading elsewhere someone ordered and all they received was bootlegs. :0
I couldn't even open the site, it gave me an error.

One of which is not an actual buyer.

They seem to be either old Nippon employees or the same Nippon under a new name (who really know?).

I did buy an in-stock item from moehime which was Raphtalia bunny ITEM #1051030 for a great price and upon receiving it was authentic.

I'm not encouraging anyone to buy from them but they seem legit so far. (Only buy in-stock items to be covered in PayPal protection if things go south)

I ordered some of their in stock sale items because they had some I wanted and the price was low. Used surface mail cause I refuse to pay high shipping fees. The tracking number they gave didn't update for 4-5 days but now its been received by JapanPost. I reckon they just post out from their warehouse once a week.

Website looks megashady, but I saw a review in this thread here of someone that got their item so I went for it. :') As there was a figure on my wishlist for 50% off there ITEM #1046509 and I don't think I'll ever see her cheaper than that.

Shipping is with ePacket Registered so I should get it in 1-3 weeks from now. Will update here how it went.

Even if they are legit...they really need a better website designer. :')

As someone who almost got burned by Nippon Yassan, I also want to echo the thought that moehime is probably just a front for the former NY managers

One thing that I don't think anyone has pointed out yet is the rather suspicious timing of the launch of moehime. If you check the ICANN whois registration dates this is what you get:

As someone else said before, this is on top of the fact that:

-moehime had virtually the same inventory as NY right before closure

-moehime was using an email list known only to NY

-moehime is located in the same city that NY used to be

So moehime just happens to pop up right around the same time that NY comes back online, as people are getting marketing emails for accounts that they only ever associated with NY. If this isn't a red flag I don't know what is.

At this point I don't think anyone is doubting that they are born from the ashes of Nippon Yassan. What happened with Nippon Yassan was really tragic and I feel sorry for all the users that lost a lot of money because of them.

However, even if I don't like what happened back then and I wouldn't trust moehime-japantoys with preorders, I am still willing to give them a chance for in stock items as they do have some pretty good deals.

I took my chance and bought a figure from them earlier this month and they sent it the following day which is pretty fast compared to most shops these days. The figure I bought was at its original retail price and is now sold at a really stupid aftermarket these days so I decided that giving them a second chance was at least worth a try.

I'll try to post my thoughts on them once my package arrives. It's going to take quite a bit of time (maybe 2 or 3 months) though since I sent it by ferry.

My NY Experience:
View spoilerHide spoiler I was kinda a long term user of NY and got also somewhat screwed (as I did not read the hints) by their rather sad closure, they did not send us the paid figures (ITEM #693386 and paid ITEM #675995), both together in value of 300€ and of course both skyrocketed in aftermarket. They did give us coupons after a long series of warnings and threatening over support. I tried not to use the paypal protection system (possible, I was naive, as I had good faith). I used one for ITEM #676096 as it was one of the figures I wanted, and it seems it did get higher in value. (I know I know, value is not important as long you like the figure, and you are happy to have it, but it does help to know, you are able to sell it, if you want/need it). I did NOT use the second one, because there was nothing left in stock currently, I was interested. I should have used it, as they were closing indefinitely weeks later. they shipped us a package for Orangenette, but I lost somewhat faith and doubted, if it was real or was filled with stones lol. I waited till some days before the deadline of paypal protection (as I paid for the shipping) and as the time went on, and I did not get the surface parcel, I did make a dispute and got the money back (, because they did not respond). Funnily I did get the package, just weeks later (which is still a lot, when you consider the 180 paypal protection days) and it was her, so I am pretty happy that I did get something out of it, but was still left with some bad aftertaste.


So I started to diverse more my preorders, because of this experience. (mostly, Big in Japan, Hobby Genki and Zenmarket)

I used MoeHime for some time now, and I do understand that it is the same or at least has same data and mostly same warehouse of NY, but I do also feel like they are trying a new start, although this could be just me and my naivety. I started using them on DEC 2022 and tried mostly their super sales. they did undervalue when I asked them too, which is an important option for me. I bought the following packages:

I bought ITEM #549572 & ITEM #1034779 shipped with airmail, they did arrive in new condition.
I bought ITEM #945911 shipped with airmail, they did arrive in new condition.
I bought ITEM #1205491 & ITEM #886874 shipped with airmail, they did arrive in new condition.

After these experiments I preordered 2 figures, they were the only ones to have preorders still open with pay later option, and it were figures I could also live without them (I want too much anyway *looking at my WL*) I preordered ITEM #1662068 and ITEM #1552754, so yeah lets see how it turns out.

I also ordered something from their last sale, but it is still on the way (surface shipping)

I do agree with other posters here that it still feels very sketchy and a sub-company of NY. I would only recommend them if you're similarly wanting some of their big sales items.

Good news! Yeah their sale were great! So many exclusive figures that were 50% off and 200% more if bought used elsewhere. I’m starting to doubt those negative reviews on them selling bootlegs are validated or not. Perhaps they were written out of frustration because they were victims of the NY incident.

Frustration does not come short, if you don't have the context of the dark truth.

Hmmm…. Some of the figures during their sale were released WAY AFTER NY has shut down. So they are probably not “stolen” as you assumed. Timeline doesn’t add up as I saw figures there during their sale that were released just weeks ago. But again who knows maybe the release date has been postponed many times.

I poed newest Snow Miku with them, how do I pay for her? Do they notify you when they get the item in stock? It’s my first order there too.

Pre-ordered ITEM #1472881 from this shop. You cannot even pay pre-orders yet. So I'm curious whether I'll actually get an invoice when it releases. The release date on their page says July 31st.

If the pre-order falls through, that's okay, I didn't lose any money over it at least.
