Whether you're happy with recent or existing changes, guidelines etc. or not, please feel free to post feedback here.

Note: For explicit suggestions, there's thread/17523, although these will probably overlap sometimes.

Really liking the new regional pricing/ release update!

Also excited for non-Japanese origins & items expanding.

Changes on the whole have been good, but would be good to get a changelog going, at least for the significant changes. Maybe posted as Tsuko-tan if no mod/admin/developer wants to take the flack for changes people don't like.

(e.g. it'd be good to have some notes on how the price thing is intended to be used, and what counts as an official price for other regions and what doesn't. And probably to emphasise it's to be used for MSRPs and not for random conversions, as I'm sure someone will at some point).

See thread/19189, although it's a work in progress. There will be a separate announcement on the release field as well, probably tomorrow, since it will be required in a different context anyway.

I don't know if this feedback or not but having the comments from oldest to latest would make things easier unless that is already in place. it is driving me mad reading articles and forum comment backwards scrolling down to go to the first reply then scroll back up to read the previous.

Ditto.

Forums are forwards, so maybe the site maintainers can simplify the code (I assume it's custom) in the long run by removing the distinction between articles and forums.

Articles were a mistake. Going to have to see where this ends up going, but you're kind of thinking of the same thing I am.

Sharing some of my opinions here as I am not as busy as before. Might be too straightforward/blunt for some, so I apologise if it is a bit offensive. Also - it's too long so I'm hiding each part in spoilers.

+ve:
View spoilerHide spoiler1. New regional pricing. This comes in handy for adding region-exclusive items
2. The "clear all" & "Pick some/all characters//origins". It saves me a lot of time while looking for a certain character of the origin. Whoever comes up with the idea is a genius. I can't even say how much I appreciate it.
3. Entering the size, i.e. standard size (A4, B2, L, etc.). It's like a dream come true, ngl. I got annoyed whenever I had to add three entries of the same design tapestry for different sizes (B0, B1, B2) in the past, so I wished there would be a way to combine all three of them into one entry. And now I can. Super duper happy.
4. the customization category for profile/article customization pics. Nothing much to explain here 'cause well, we all know why.
5. Showing more than 5 entries in the Related Entries. Great

-ve:
View spoilerHide spoiler1. The round icon.
- I despise how it does not align with other square icons. Since the shape of the icons are square on the homepage, profile etc, it is weird to see how the icon shifts to a round shape when you click into the entry.
- Round icon shows less area/info of the thumbnail.
2. Colour of the item titles. The titles used to be different colours depending on the category (e.g. apparel - bright pink; dishes - dark red), but now they are all white with a tag on the side that says what the category is. When using the "save as" function, the various colours of the title is actually more conspicuous and noticeable of what the category has been chosen when changing the category of the item.
3. The newly added "source" part in the information.I don't understand why it's necessary for, say, doujinshi/doujin goods - when links to purchase are usually provided. I just tried to test this feature by adding ITEM #1866103 and I see no difference there. Could say this is an unnecessary thing when link is provided in info + additional information is there as well.
4. Also the the recently changed placing of the picture/Official picture in the edit page. I guess it is to make the edit page shorter, but it irks me when there is a large empty gap between the Category and Entries.
5. The bars showing the Owned, Ordered, Wished, Favorites on profile page. While it is fine when viewing them on desktop, I have to scroll to right EVERY TIME to see my wished/favourite items when I am on mobile. This is so irritating. Are there any ways to improve it?
6. The roles of the company. The bars of listing the company to be copyright holder/manufacturer/producer used to be placed on top but not at bottom. Less convenient to reach as I have to scroll down now. Way much convenient when placed on top. I like the magnifier icon, though.
7. I'm not gonna talk about the loli/shota removal here as I do feel it could stir a lot of emotions, but there should at least leave some space for "controversial" tags.
- For example, the rape/loli tag. These tags could be useful when I could 1. objectively describe the item and 2. filter wanted/unwanted doujinshis when finding the books I might be interested in.
- I honestly don't see why objectively describing something are still gonna piss the fragile-hearted people off. When a book contains bestiality, insects, tentacles etc and tags are added, users could simply avoid them through the help of tags. Basically, it is: if you don't like it, ignore it. This site is technically trying to protect a small part of the people's vulnerable heart and eyes while overlooking others' needs. [okay I am getting emotional when typing it here so I am gonna stop here.]

Mixed feelings:
View spoilerHide spoiler1. the "favourites" shown on the profile page. Square icons were only the thing shown in the favourites part but the new updates show the name of the entry as well. E.g. I liked the Classification "Kuro Bunny Club Acrylic Stand Collection", and only the thumbnail/icon shown in the Favourites in the past' and now the name of the entry is shown as well. While I find it unnecessarily long and annoyingly cluttering, I somewhat like how its basic info is shown to others, who might be interested in them.
2. The position of the bin button in the edit page. It used to be on the right hand side but not at the bottom of the entry. Now that it's at the bottom, I occasionally click the "Pick" button below by accident. Bruh.

I still have some more thoughts on the new features and stuff but I am stopping here- sorry for the extremely long feedback (or nitpicking lol). Anyway, I appreciate the changes as all of us had (and have) longed for changes for the better.

Feedback regarding article content/community guidelines:

I believe it's time to readdress what's allowed and what's isn't in articles.

Section iii of 4:
"Do not bring topics such as religion, politics, sexuality, beliefs, real life matters or otherwise disturbing topics etc. into discussions that are otherwise unrelated to these topics; exceptions possible for articles."

With all the constant infighting, drama and "trauma dumping" (as some users call it) caused from articles, I believe It would be best to redact the "exceptions possible for articles" in the context of articles that are unrelated to figure collecting/or hobbies. I would argue that articles that places a huge emphasis on "real life matters" should be moderated and either edited or removed as well. It all connects back to section 4 as a whole:
"Please be courteous here in the community
...and do your part to create an environment that all members can enjoy.
"

These articles don't foster that environment on this website. It creates an echo chambers within comments on pages, articles and dms that aren't pleasant. I'm not saying that those topics should be shunned, but MFC isn't the platform that it should be shared on.

Because at this point, where else can it go? We just had a user link to private information with the intend to harm in their article about section, that resulted in a lack luster punishment even though it can be a punishable offence by the law.

Please also reconsider in changing section iv of 4 guideline from:
"Do not violate the personal privacy of other members by making their personal information public or otherwise discussing them in an open space."
To:
"Do not violate the personal privacy of other people by making their personal information public or otherwise discussing them in an open space."
Since members can be interpreted as only users of MFC compared to everyone.

Thank you for your consideration.

MisterSwag3 months ago#124742948[...]

Thanks for the feedback! Lots of thought, but lots of thoughts on that on my end in particular as well.

Just the most important thing, though - articles in their current iteration were a mistake and couldn't hope to peacefully coexist next to forums while still giving both forums and articles the same relevance, end of story.

Currently working on drafting a massive overhaul of the article and forum sections to do away with that level of redundancy. This is also why pretty much no one's been handling articles (shop questions etc. even) outside of emergencies. Waste of time to swim against the stream, so better to just redirect it.

I brought it up in suggestions but honestly I think it might be more useful to bring it up here.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2023/05/27/3602953.png

The color for the Software category is wayy to light. In light mode it's just outright unreadable and looks like a blank space.

Can you please add a general "Europe" or "EU" option in the country drop down menu? I don't want to have to create a release for each European country seperately when just trying to add a release date for some league of legends stuff (which is distributed pretty much EU wide but many countries do have their own store page)

Can you list specific examples? EUR prices across different countries can vary from what I remember.

merch.riotgames... is 89.50 euro in every european country I look - even the ones that don't carry euro (also all the english ones link back to the en-gb website). Pretty sure the only difference for this website is just language. Clearly this is price and distribution is the same for the whole continent of Europe, so to choose one single country (or add a lot of them with the same price) feels like an arbritrary thing to do. If the releases actually differ they can be added seperately but it would just be nice if the option is there.

Alright, thanks! In that case, it should be fine to just go with the Global release option since that's supposed to cover cases such as this one, you can pick EUR there and list the correct price and it will, as per definition, cover more than one country.

Just wanted to say thanks for fixing the search so that keywords with a ton of entries all show rather than only a few. It's a huge help so I don't have to get ultra specific for searches of "SEGA" and "Miku". Also thanks for adding artists to said keyword searches. It's a huge help! (>ω<)b

Put an empty space between "by" and "MFC" please. This is making me OCD.
Sorry if wrong thread, but no idea where to put stuff like this.

Not necessarily here, but I can relate. Gonna see if this one can be expedited, thanks.
