Can we get item condition to show up in the Notifications for Ads? I hate seeing a sales notification for an item I want and then clicking through only to find it's in an undesirable condition. Would rather be able to see it in the notifications. Thanks!
Treasures untold in my Sales List 1 and Sales List 2!

    Hello!
Due to the recent state of the articles and a lot of people feeling less than happy about it, I'd like to suggest something to elevate at least some of the frustration I've been seeing.

The forums on this site are fairly inactive compared to the articles page. Some of the topics that have dedicated forums (predominantly shop questions and figure identifications) get asked a lot in the articles instead, leading to some frustrating comments, and a discouraged user who's article gets deleted.

    Here's my suggestion;
Consider adding a note on the article creation page, which would direct a user to specified forums, with links to different forums. There's a big empty space on the right side of the article creation page, which seems like a perfect place for that kind of information. It would both direct the person to the right place to ask their question, and remind people that forums actually exist, which would, ideally, make them more active.

    Here's a mock-up I did to illustrate the idea better;
    View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://i.ibb.co/9NybX9x/suggestion.png

    ---
Additionally and unrelated to the previous part of this post; I've been noticing that the articles sometimes cut a word if it reaches the end of the line, and the word is replaced by '...' instead of being properly fully moved to the next line. Sometimes it makes the sentence hard to read because the reader needs to assume what the word was supposed to be. I've never seen anything like this before on other sites so I assume it's a coding issue, and just wanted to bring it to light in case no one else did yet.

    This this this this^^^^^

I feel like part of the issue is that people don't read the guidelines before checking off the box at the bottom of the article creation page, so I wonder if an alternative would be to put those "immediately relevant" info points down by the check box, or move the check box up to the hypothetical sidebar information. (I'm not particularly married to either of those configurations; I just think the two elements should gesture towards each other in some way.)

EDIT: I just left a comment on BLOG #44300, but the short version is that I would love to see a crackdown on what qualifies as an article in general, and then see some of that other content migrating over to the forums.

It also occurred to me that the regular MFC forum doesn't even have a general figure discussion thread? Or like, just a thread to talk about pre-orders? I feel like that kind of stuff would be relatively easy to get people to use, and then maybe lead to more (and better) forum usage overall.

This seems so obvious to create, i remember how this helped getting convos in check on a forum i frequented a lot and people could ask questions and being directed to other threads from there without fearing of posting somewhere wrong.

I checked and i can sticky threads in here, at least something we can do *hurray*.

Gonna get a second opinion in quickly but i really don't see any harm in having a general figure discussion corner.

I'm open for puntastic name suggestions.

Edit: Got a second go for it in from admin who thinks it's a good idea.

Awesome! I'm not sure about names, but I'll keep an eye out for the thread and make an effort to start/continue discussion.

On the same issue, I wonder if disallowing help/advice articles is too dramatic? We do have a help thread that's pretty active, so it's not like there isn't a place for that stuff already.

I'm not sure if this has been asked in the past but maybe adding a new option for owning for media called download code or something similar ? I own both IA and IA ROCKS voicebanks for vocaloid but their download only, as well as my project diva and persona 5 games are downloaded ! I think it would be a neat option to include in the database for media you can download!

This doesn't seem to have been asked yet, unless my search skills suck.

While browsing through search results on figures (over a slow connection), I had an idea. A lot of times several entries will be just color variations of the same figure, and often only one of the entries will have many photos. Could the number of photos for each entry be included in that tooltip-like popup when you mouseover the icons? It could save some time for users, and possibly an inconsequential amount of bandwidth for the server.

I'd like to ask for some more functionality to the tools for editing Encyclopedia entries.

When the categories where split so user could subscribe to figures, goods and media separate so they wouldn't get alerts for goods when they are only interested in figures, the tools where not updated to accomodate to the new categories.

We are only able to edit all new three categories in one.

Adding radio buttons with the following categories atop of the drop down menue to link items,: "All", "Figures", "Goods" and "Media" would help in getting this functionality back.

    Hello !

It would be nice to have a button to start the search instead of pressing enter in the many search box, it is usually a magnifying glass, so comfy \(*^*)/

Not sure if I can't find the option or it's a new suggestion: The possibility to select from which friends you get birthday notifications.

I would say about 25% of my friend list is inactive users, so it doesn't make much sense to keep on wishing them happy birthday. However, it feels a bit crude to remove them from my friend list as there is a chance for them to return. ^^''

For when you export your lists as an CSV file: Make it also possible to include the text written in the description of your list in your export.

    Thank you! :)

Hi, I was wondering, if it is allowed to add figures from japanese characters from western manufacturers (Funko as an example), could we also add the manga volumes published by non-japanese publishers?

    Thanks!

That suggestion likely won't be accepted.
    There's a crystal-clear rule against it (about/faq/#ref-...):

    "Adding Media

Media released in Japan (Japanese releases only)."

So, only Japanese releases of manga volumes (which fall in the "Media" category, unlike the Funko Pop which are "Figures") can be added to the database.
Non-Japanese publisher manga releases aren't considered valid entries.

Oh, I don't how I skipped that part, my bad.
Still think it's a bit of a shame, maybe the entries could be like an entry from goodreads, one entry with different publishing/edition options. But still only one entry.

To the moderator(s) or whomever is in charge of maintaining MFC.net,

I have a suggestion to make. Can you update your Help FAQs page regarding adding Catalog ID by making an exception to the ID numbers listed in the CDjapan.co.jp website? I got a comment advice from VIB username Coffee after making an entry report, saying, "These should never be added to any entry here on MFC since they're CDJapan's own catalog IDs and not the products." Thank you for listening.

A lot of retailers have their own stock control numbers - it wouldn't make any sense to make an exception for one retailer at random. And it would create a massive mess of numbers for any item in particular if they were allowed. Better to stick to universal cataloguing numbers (such as JANs and ISSNs) so that the ID section wouldn't become an incomprehensible mess of proprietary control numbers.

This seems like a good time... Here are some thoughts for the shredder disguised as a suggestion box:

    Item Filter Options
    • Please consider implementing a blacklist option to hide items – similar to the blacklist options for pictures.

I.e. hide additions from certain users, or specific tags** (**Which is presented as an option, but has never worked anyway I try. See also: community/comme...)

    Item Search Options
    • Would it be possible to increase the number of tags to search by / exclude? (The current max is 5 tags.)

    • Search by rating: for items that are not rated 18+ (see also: community/comme...)

Or, items with an 18+ rating could be auto-tagged – similar to origin/character, etc. – so they can be excluded from searches via tags.

    Encyclopedia Search Options
    • Add an option to exclude tags.

Fun Fact: Of the almost 18,000 entries under "companies", at most 2,000 are actually "companies" (corporations, etc.), and ~70% are doujinshi circles. (Yes, really. This is not an exaggeration, the "exceptions" are the majority of entries.) FML

    Thanks?
