Kendappa4 years ago#4838186Can anybody help me with this seller? stores.ebay.de/...

Has many used items, but only uses stock photos... but he's from Japan.
It seems like a reasonable store and many of the items on sale don't have known bootlegs. They also put the company in the title of the listing which is good because bootleg sellers will always avoid that and instead give you vague descriptions like "Chinese version, China homegrown product, etc." If you're interested in a specific item I would either a) look for it elsewhere first since the prices are kind of high but that's Ebay for you or b) contact them directly and ask if they can take a few pictures of the item. Most sellers are pretty reasonable and would be willing to do that for you. At that time you can also ask them if the figure is an original item.

Thanks so much for yor reply! Now a feel better with the shop in general. There's indeed an item I' like to buy an older Bleach scale from Megahouse, listed under 30 Dollar. I'm already waiting for them to reply. But I was irritated to find only stock photos - plus I've seen the scale for way more money than that.

So it's not everytime a hint for bootlegs, if the seller uses stock photos? I got the impression of that in other threads on this site.

While stock photos can sometimes be an indicator it also depends on a couple of other factors as well. Usually stock photos + extremely low prices + a seller in China are where you should start getting concerned but it really depends on the seller and how the listings look.

It seems to me that this is most likely a person running a small business in Japan selling figures to foreigners so to save time they just copy and use the photos from manufacturers.

Ah okay, in the future I will consider that. I got an answer, they told me, they're selling only originals. I ordered it and will see, if I get happy. I'll report in the thread for bootleg sellers, if I should get one.

Thanks again for your help! :3

oooo A thread I can contribute to.

tezutsu-jp Very nice seller. Ships fast. Yes, he uses a ton of stock images, but all his items are legit. 100% feedback rating with 700+ feedback. My first figure purchase was from him.

xAnimeStuffStorex This is my "fall back" dealer if I absolutely want a figure and I cannot find it anywhere else. Only used once. US based, so shipping isn't bad. Mainly positive feedback, except you don't want to buy a wig from them (apparently)

I'm a newbie to buying on Ebay. Does anyone have information about these two sellers?

    i-anime: www.ebay.com/us...

    hobbyhunters: www.ebay.com/us...

I've placed an order with i-anime for a wall scroll already.

Update (2/16/2016): I got my wall scroll today, ITEM #391788 , and I'd say it's legit.

The wall scroll is the same size as another one I ordered from GE entertainment on Amazon, and also has the same feel to it, unlike the bootlegs that come from China. The tag looks to have all the information on it. The only odd thing about it is that the bar-code wont scan. I also tried finding the bar-code information online, but even after I found some information, it doesn't seem to match up with any item either, meaning that the bar-code issue probably isn't anything worth worrying about.

I think it's safe to say i-anime is a legit seller, but more feedback would be appreciated.

Anyone familiar with this seller? www.ebay.com/us...

US based selling a lot of figures. I messaged asking a question about one and got an answer, but no response when I asked for pictures. They have a lot of good reviews on ebay though
