    Hi,
Your Collection is really cool and you like the same Animes like me, especially Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei and Gintama.

Skip down to step 8-ish which explains the layer mask in detail

Sorry for giving you such a hard time with my explanations! Clearly a teacher would not be a good career choice for me ahaha
No,no! You've done way more than enough. I see what they did there. I will make another set of gifs when the next Muv-Luv episode comes out. Layer Masks aren't new to me but I only barely scratched the surface of their functionality and usage capability.

It didn't take long for me to find myself at a few other pages linked from that tutorial you sent me. Mask Layers are a big thing! I have to go back and learn what Adjustment Layers are too. The thing is, I'm not a Photoshop genie. I just got the program, and started poking around. I even have a tablet!

Thanks so much for your help. I'll make good use of your advice. :D
Lol @ that gif still. XD Mad fast..

heatsignature (5 years ago) #1213069View spoilerHide spoilerAh so I commented on your post about making gifs and never followed up so I'm going to try to explain better what I meant...

SO let's fast forward to when you have all your frames loaded, and you are ready to save the file! But you want to make the file size smaller...
    http://s10.postimage.org/m4h8rwta1/Screen_Shot_2012_11_02_at_10_17_56_PM.png

You go to the layer that should also be your last frame and duplicate it
    http://s18.postimage.org/jgk4aujuh/Screen_Shot_2012_11_02_at_10_21_27_PM.png

Use the eraser tool and erase the bits on the duplicated layer that are going to be moving throughout the gif. Here's what the duplicated layer looks like by itself (make sure you don't erase on any other layer!)
    http://s12.postimage.org/hf9mz0e99/Screen_Shot_2012_11_02_at_10_25_06_PM.png

So the idea is to have two layers visible at once, having one top layer that doesn't move makes the file size smaller, over the rest of the gif.

    Yay only 244.5 K!

    and the final result...

    ...IS TOO FAST DAMMIT
haha yeah I forgot to slow it down but I hope you understand it this time!

What a badass tutorial! Thanks for that. And Erio.. <3

But the part that has me stumped is the section where you make the duplicate stay put while the rest of the gif plays. "So the idea is to have two layers visible at once, having one top layer that doesn't move makes the file size smaller, over the rest of the gif."
^This is what I am not understanding because I don't know how to do this.
